UPDATE 9/28/2020: FROM PASTOR LETCHER
Mask Service – 8AM Sunday
9/28/2020 UPDATE: Pastor Letcher along with the Board of Elders has decided to continue the 8am Sunday Service (Masks Required) until Oct. 26 when they will meet again for their regular meeting. If you have any questions or concerns please contact your Care Group Elder or Pastor Letcher.
In order to minister to our members who because of age or health concerns have not felt comfortable coming to our current Divine Service at 10:00 am, we are implementing an additional service where masks will be required by those in attendance. The 10:00 am Divine Service will continue to be live streamed on Facebook and posted at a later date on YouTube. At the 8AM service there will be no hymns or sung liturgy as we will be using a modified, spoken service. Communion will be celebrated, but only using individual cups. The pastor and elder will wear masks during communion distribution. We ask those coming to the 8:00 am service to please sit on the North/Lectern side of the Sanctuary to facilitate cleaning after the service. Bible Study will be pushed back from 8:45 to 9:00 am. Those coming to Pastor’s class will be asked to enter the Parish Activity Center through the west PAC doors so those leaving the early service can exit through the Narthex doors.
The Elders and Pastor will meet at the end of the month to see if the 8:00 am service will continue. This year has had special circumstances and Lord willing, we look forward to a day when we can all come together again in whatever form that takes. This year has been a reminder of how quickly life can change and how we as God’s people react to plans for the future. We know who holds the end of our days and we do not fear meeting our Judge since we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ. After you have attended any of the 8:00 am Divine Services, please direct any feedback you may have to Pastor Letcher. Our goal is not only to protect the physical safety of those who attend, but also build up their spiritual life.
Communion will be offered every Sunday using the Continuous method (not around the Communion rail) with both the Common and Individual cups made available. Ushers will dismiss pews to go forward with Pastor and Elders serving at the front of the Sanctuary. Pastor and an Elder will bring Communion to anyone who is unable to come forward. Please let an Usher know when you first arrive if you desire to receive Communion in your pew.
There will be no greeters before service and Pastor will not shake hands following the service. You are asked to exit the building and visit outside instead of in the Narthex. Offering plates will remain at the back of the church and everything is printed in the bulletin. You will be ushered out at the end of the Divine Service.
Small groups: Youth Group, Weekday Small Groups, Circles & Board meetings CAN meet at the group leaders & members discretion.
Masks: everyone is encouraged to wear a mask to enter and exit the building…….however they are not mandatory.
If you do not feel comfortable attending Worship, by all means, stay at home.
To this end, if you are in a High Risk category that is more at risk for contracting Covid-19, we ask that you stay at home and we will do what we can to keep you involved with the Worship life of the Congregation. Categories include: Over 70 age group, high-risk health concerns (respiratory issues, asthma, heart disease, lung disease, or diabetes), or live with someone in these categories or has a compromised immune system.
If you have any questions or concerns PLEASE contact Pastor Letcher at the church or on his cell phone (402-631-8680), or your Elder. Don’t know who your Care Group Elder is?
